Dear Members,
This year Skynet the Computer Society is delighted
to announce the introduction of the Admin Of the Year Award. This award has
been created to award recognition and thanks for the work that admins donate
to the society each year. This time is given free of charge and without it
we would be unable to continue as a server and the society as a whole would
without doubt suffer.
The nominees for the 2003 Admin of the Year are
Ivan Kelly (ikelly)
Mel Gorman (mel)
John Madden (maddenj)
Ivan Kelly: (ikelly)
Ivan is a first year Computer System's student who over the past year
has opened the eyes of the fellow admins. Nominated for waltzing in, and
doing stuff. In true admin fashion, he saw something he wanted done (SMTP)
and went and did it. Not bad for an ickle first year, even if he is a BSD
head :)
John Madden: (maddenj)
For consistently being there to work on anything that needed
fixing, picking up the general compsoc administration slack, constantly
finding services that could be introduced or improved and being constantly
vigilant for bugs and security holes in the network.
Mel Gorman: (mel)
Mel has already won the University of Limerick society person of
the Year award and the Mike Sadlier award for his contribution to the
society. Mel has given much needed time and skills throughout the year
even when he could not afford to. Mel has been the hand of experience and
over the past year has helped put Skynet back on course.
How to Vote:
