Hi,
We've been informed by the UL Buildings Department that as part of
their maintenance of UL's electricity supply system, there will be a
full powerdown of all UL buildings from 02:00 - 10:00 Sunday, 2nd
September. ITD have advertised downtime from 22:00, Saturday, 1st
September to 12:00, Sunday, 2nd September.
In order to prolong uptime as long as possible, we have decided not to
pre-emptively take the machines down and rely on the UPS and connected
software to bring down all the machines cleanly after the power fails.
We have not tested this configuration because it would require cutting
the power to the whole skynet cluster. So please, ensure all your
documents are saved, just in case.
We have admins to bring everything back up on Sunday morning, but it
does rely on the power being restored.
Also, both the time stuff goes down and the time things come back up
at rely on ITD - Skynet may be up, but without ITD having brought up
all the networking in between, people won't see it.
Regards,
Cian Davis
