Ever wonder what men can do about it?

 

The University of Limerick's Equality and Diversity Committee is
delighted to announce that:

Dr Noel Richardson (please see biodata below) will be speaking on the
subject of men's health at an event to be held in the Wood Room, Plassey
House between 1-2pm on Friday December 4th next. 

 

Title: Looking beyond the prostate - reflecting on the paradoxes,
dilemmas and challenges for men's health in the 21st Century.

 

This talk is one of a series planned over the next twelve months by the
University of Limerick's Equality and Diversity Committee.

Biodata:

Dr Noel Richardson has extensive experience in the area of men's health.
He is co-author of the first ever National Policy on men's health, which
was published in Ireland in January, 2009. He is director of the Centre
for Men's Health at the Institute of Technology Carlow and has worked as
a senior researcher and policy advisor on men's health at the Department
of Health and Children since 2002. During that time, he produced a
landmark research report in men's health and co-ordinated an extensive
nationwide consultation process, both of which informed the development
of the national policy on men's health. He completed a doctoral thesis
in men's health in 2007. He has presented at international conferences
on men's health and is a respected spokesperson on men's health in
Ireland through television, radio and print media. He is chair of the
Men's Health Forum in Ireland and a board member of the European Men's
Health Forum.
