Recording at the Irish World Academy Building

Separate Recordings: 2.30pm to 5pm and 6 pm to 8pm

 

The Irish World Academy of Music and Dance cordially invites members of the campus community to the recording tomorrow, Tuesday April 13th, of RTÉ Radio One's Céilí House programme in Theatre 2 in the Irish World Academy's new building on UL's north campus.

 

At 2.30 pm, the first of two recordings commences, when Céilí House presenter Kieran Hanrahan, will introduce a huge array of musicians - including students of the Academy's BA Irish Music and Dance, and guests Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin (piano), Mary McLaughlin (voice), Tríona Ní Shíocháin (whistle), Peter Dundon (voice).  

 

At 6pm, the second recording commences, featuring students of the MA Irish Traditional Music Performance in solo and ensemble pieces, including Ged Foley (voice, guitar, fiddle), Tommy Fitzharris (concertina), James Mahon (flute, pipes), Seán O Fearghail (fiddle), Clíodhna Donnellan (fiddle), Niall Keegan (flute) and many more.

 

All welcome to attend what promises to be a great afternoon of music, dance and song.
