Would you like to participate in a calibration study for a brand new
non-invasive Haemoglobin sensor system?
Study Purpose
In collaboration with the ECE department and the Graduate Entry Medical
School an innovative non-invasive hemoglobin sensor system has been
developed. In order to calibrate this device it is essential that blood
samples analysed using the device are compared with samples obtained
using established invasive methods.
Who is needed?
Students or staff of the University of Limerick aged over 18.
What do you have to do?
You will need to attend a 10 minute testing session in the Graduate
Entry Medical School. During that time your haemoglobin level will be
measured using the newly developed non-invasive device and an
established invasive blood probe “Hemocue”. The latter involves taking
a very small sample of blood from your finger tip.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
