Leo Hayes from Bruff Co. Limerick is setting off this October 2010 with one thousand other volunteers to build over 100 homes in South Africa. The project is organised by the Niall Mellon Foundation. Neil is a developer who while visiting South Africa witnessed at first hand 12,000 people living in the worst imaginable conditions. Before people go on this house-building exercise they raise Euro 5,000 which is then used to build dream homes for these people and their families. As a fund-raiser Leo decided to produce a CD with many lovely Irish ballads including She Moved through the Fair, Star of the County Down and Staten Island. Leo is joined in this CD by Batt O'Connor and a number of other well-known musicians from Dolan's Pub including Gerry Mac Namara, Avril O'Brien, Mickey Dunne and Bríd Dunne. Make sure to join us for this special fund-raising Lunchtime Concert and purchase a CD. CDs sell for Euro 10 each and are for a most worthy and noble cause.
