The U.L. TaeKwonDo Club will be hosting a LADIES R.A.P.E ( Real Attack Prevention Effectively) Self Defense Seminar on Saturday, 13th February from 11am in the Sports Hall of the PESS Building here on campus. As the name suggests, the course will be dealing with self defense for females. No prior knowledge or experience of martial arts is assumed; the course starts from the basics and covers simple techniques, mindsets and typical reactions over the timeframe set out. The course is open to all female staff or students members in the college, as well as any external females you may know who may be interested. Expected duration is approximately 4 hours on the day, starting at 11am. Cost of the course will be EUR20 for U.L staff or students, and EUR25 for any external people who may be interested.

The R.A.P.E Self Defense Course is an accredited self-defense course for women which highlights the effectiveness of real self defence awareness and physical defensive skills in modern everyday settings and scenarios. The course will be run by Mr William Power, a 5th degree black belt instructor in TaeKwonDo with over 20 years experience in the field of martial arts and self defense programs, along with other members of the U.L TaeKwonDo Club. The course will cover topics such as basic strikes, using the body's natural weapons, blocking, basic ground & self-defense techniques, when to attack and tips for all-out survival in an attack situation.

Anybody having any questions or enquiries regarding the above may contact me at this email or contact the U.L TaeKwonDo Club at ul.taekwondo at gmail.com. As places on the course are limited, pre-booking is essential.
