Dear Colleagues,

The Institute for the Study of Knowledge in Society (ISKS) has now
hosted three ISKS Conversations under the general title of 'Confronting
the Crisis'. The last one, held on February 9th, heard Stephen Kinsella
of the Kemmy Business School and author of Ireland in 2050: How we will
be living (Liberties Press, 2010) and Dr. Finbarr Bradley, author (with
James J. Kennelly) Capitalising on Culture, Competing on Difference:
Innovation, Learning and Sense of Place in a Globalising Ireland
(Blackhall Publishing, 2008) address their visions of Ireland in 2050.
Previous Conversations have heard Michael D. Higgins and Prof. Ruth
Levitas, and Dr Michael O'Sullivan with Dr Mary Murphy.

A full recording of each of these can be listened to on the ISKS website
at www.ul.ie/isis. So for a stimulating listen, I invite you to relax,
sit back and be challenged by any of our speakers.

Future ISKS conversations on the subjects of 'Confronting the Crisis:
Can Technology Save Us?' and 'Confronting the Crisis: Views from
Outside' will be held on March 9th and on April 13th. Further
information will be sent out on the events list closer to the date of

Many thanks,

Peadar Kirby
