<p class=MsoPlainText>Software development in itself is a complex process.
Global software development (GSD) magnifies those complexities, as it involves
people coordinating across significant geographical, temporal and
socio-cultural distances to develop software systems. Despite its challenges,
GSD has been said to bring with it a range of benefits. For example, companies
can tap into new expanding lower-cost employment markets offering thousands of
skilled graduates, through the medium of Internet communication technologies.
This talk will compare how two multinational companies with development sites
in Ireland are approaching GSD, and to what extent they are realising the
potential benefits in practice.<o:p></o:p></p>
