de tacón</span></font></i> tells the story of Anita Sirgo and Tina Pérez, women
who fought for their rights and those of their families during the miners
strikes in <st1:country-region w:st="on">Asturias</st1:country-region>, <st1:place
w:st="on"><st1:country-region w:st="on">Spain</st1:country-region></st1:place>
in the 1960s. It is a tribute to their strength, dignity and defiance of the
Francoist dictatorship. Produced by 'Por Tantas Cosas' and directed by Amanda
Castro, this short film has obtained numerous awards, both nationally and
internationally, including the Special Merit Award in the San Diego Indie Fest,
the Salvador Allende Centenary Mention in the Social Film and Human Rights Festival
in Valparaiso (Chile), and the Best Actress Award to Cristina Marcos (Anita
Sirgo) in the 1<sup>st</sup> International Film Festival of Valle del Bravo
(México) and in the Olavarria Short Film Festival (Argentina).<o:p></o:p></p>
