lang=EN-IE>, the author, Dr Eamon O’Flaherty will deliver a lecture
summarising many years of research on the city entitled “<st1:place
w:st="on">Limerick</st1:place>'s urban development: from Viking to modern
times”. <st1:place w:st="on"><i><span style='font-style:italic'>Limerick</span></i></st1:place>
examines the topographical information of the city’s three urban centres,
from Viking, to Anglo-Norman to Georgian, <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=2 face=Calibri><span lang=EN-IE style='font-size:
11.0pt'>depicting the strategic importance of this city on the <st1:place
w:st="on">Shannon</st1:place> for military and trading purposes from the 9th
century. Histories of over 4,000 sites are documented along with a
rich collection of maps and illustrations from the 16th to the 21st
centuries. Included with the publication is a fully searchable
