<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0pt"><SPAN lang=EN-GB style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; LINE-HEIGHT: 115%; FONT-FAMILY: 'Arial','sans-serif'">Funded by the Health Research Board, CSTAR was founded by a group of academic/health researchers from UCD, TCD, NUIG and UL with support from a number of other institutions. It opened for business on 1st September 2009 with offices in Dublin and Limerick. Led by Professor Leslie Daly, Professor of Epidemiology and Biomedical Statistics, UCD the Centre aims to strengthen the quality of health research in Ireland, by providing advice, consultancy, training and education in research methodologies. To date, CSTAR has provided support to a high number of projects in many areas including clinical and health services research, epidemiology, biomedical research and pharmaceutical science.
